A noble effort, a brave stride, self-respect: you’ve drug them all through the dirt this time. You’ve sullied purity…so simple, yet you’ve lost the point. Sincerity is a forced action which you’ve forgotten long ago. No matter how long I scream, you stand indifferent. Digging yourself deeper…soon you’ll taste the dirt in those smiling teeth. Can one be so oblivious? You, the destroyer, the cancer of a good intention. Rest assured, this is dying. Rest assured I’m sick to my stomach. Your role was simple, look what you’ve made of it…a self-perpetuating machine. Do you even know what you’ve become? Do you? Stop for one second – think. Identify yourself. Acknowledge the mess you’ve made. Identify yourself. Chivalry lies in coma because of people just like you. Tuck and run the moment things complicate, abandon the chance to prove you’re anything. You’ve thrown away each opportunity but I’ll give you one last moment to bring about a new age.

Cringe and grit your teeth. There’s nothing like this feeling. Fingernails stretch and tear as they’re lodged in the pavement. How long can I drag this body? Mine. Ours. Pant and hang your tongue. There’s nothing like this feeling. The stomach stuffs itself with air to mislead appeasement. How long can one survive on sparse scraps? Crawl. Thirst. I am more than the starving rat caught in the maze, chasing down the bait. Each time my teeth miss their mark, it only serves my appetite. It takes more to put this one down. You can’t put this one down. It takes more to put me down. You can’t put this one down. Just try. Cut me down, I promise I’ll come back. I know not rest. We’ll shake off every wound. We’ll dive for every little taste. As long as I can make out a shape, there must be some shred of light. As long as I can pull this vessel, we have a destination. Clear the path or become a part of it. Don’t dare test me. I have not the patience to spare.

Black out the sky – make sure you’re all they see; don’t stop until you hear a chorus of clenched chattering teeth behind lips to shocked to speak your name. Manipulator, you’ve put on quite the splendid show, don’t let them catch their breath just yet. I saw through your guise quite some time ago, a convincing illusion – the perfect suit to cover those bones: a composite of regret and fear. Off your high horse, you’re no different then those that are the focus of your rhetoric. You know you’re all the same. The face in the mirror: your real enemy. Peel back the skin so you finally see who’s looking back from underneath. Before you raise your voice, are you familiar with the subject (or yourself [its source] for that matter)? or is it just a play to compensate? Now, we’ve all made our mistakes. We’ve all been wronged and been wrong ourselves…pomposity doesn’t make you their mouth piece. Wake up. You don’t even know yourself. Get off your high horse and face the mirror. You don’t speak for me, or my beliefs, or the lessons that I’ve learned. You don’t speak for me, or my beliefs, or the things i’d shed blood for. You do not speak for me, save your breath. You don’t speak for me, or my beliefs, or the plight that I’ve endured.. so save yourself.

Old white noise is turning red…a sea of static tied by a common thread. Our leeches slither in to attack, this one still has some blood left. A vacant shell left skinned and carved, abandoned for their next star. Scavengers: grab your fill, stand by for the next kill. Pick your tongues up off the floor. Where there is one, you can always forge more. Just set the table with something they won’t turn down. Cater to their every whim don’t let them think about the betrayal of trust choked down with the swill you’re spooning out. Don’t let them think about it. Don’t let them see you play to their greed and gluttony. Keep them all pacified. The time has come to take responsibility for your corruption, for the eyes you’ve led astray for such a long time. Release us from this, make true to your promise. All I ever wanted was something to confide in without having to second guess their every word. Please. Give us something to have some hope for…if only truth…If only truth.

about

The follow up to Ancestor's first EP, the 5-song "Koalacaust", we recorded these 4 songs in a one day (8/29/09) with the intention of making them completely free to anyone that may find them. They were posted late that night/the next morning.
We like 'em, hopefully you will too. Spread them around.
The lyrics and tunes say the rest, feel free to ask anything if you're curious.
